Washington Township, Indianapolis, Indiana

Washington Township is one of the largest townships in Indiana. It is located in the northern section of Indianapolis. It is known for it's tree-lined streets, well-established neighborhoods, and a top-rated school system. Many of the residential neighborhoods are well-maintained and are in the middle to upper income range.  It is home to some of Indy's most popular neighborhoods:

  • Meridian-Kessler is an historic district known for its homes in the upper income range, including the governor’s mansion.
  • Broad Ripple is known for its charming bungalows, boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, sidewalk cafes, ethnic restaurants, nightclubs, and pubs.

The Monon Trail runs through Nora and Broad Ripple. It offers recreation for walkers, runners, and bikers. Butler University and the Indianapolis Museum of Art are also popular sites in Washington Township.
